Summer series success celebrated at Squadron social night
A successful social night and summer series trophy presentation was held by the Yacht Squadron on Friday 12 May 2023.
Steve Cook and team on the Noelex 25 Palomino are the new club champions, with Steve receiving the shield from Commodore and previous champion Tony Murray.

Tony and crew on F24 trimaran F-One-Eleven were runners-up in the championship and winners on PBH (personal-based handicap) with Palomino second - reversing the roles.

Adrian Perry and crew on the Noelex 25 Adrift were third in both club championship and PBH.

Congratulations for the series podium places to the respective principal crews: on Palomino - Steve Cook, David Badrock and Carl Suddaby; on F-One-Eleven Tony Murray, Glenn Harris and Brigitte Janse van Rensburg; and on Adrift Adrian Perry and Anne Hilan.

The night also provided the opportunity to recognise some good placings by Squadron members in the Bay to Bay - Daryl Dorsett’s catamaran Woody was first multihull across the line and second multihull on both CBH (class-based handicap) and PBH (performance-based handicap). In the Farrier trimaran division, F-One-Eleven took out second on PBH and third on CBH. Among the Castle 650 monohulls, Kevin Murphy’s High Tension achieved first on both CBH and PBH. In the Noelex 25 class, Adrift took out second on CBH and Palomino came second on PBH.

Hervey Bay’s Road Tech Marine generously supported the series presentation including lucky door prizes which added to the interest of the occasion.

Thanks are also due to our parent club Hervey Bay Boat Club enabling use of the El Puerto restaurant for the presentation.
